Disk partitioning is not dangerous — not any more

It used to be that repartitioning a hard drive with data on it was a project that took a lot of technical understanding used up a lot of antacids. You had to know a lot about your disk and its file structure and even then you kept your fingers crossed while the hard disk partition software ran.
